Sarnia student team takes home national title for work with Zambia villagers.

CALGARY, AB (April 29, 2014): Lambton College has been named the 2014 TD Entrepreneurship Challenge National Champion by this country’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud supporter TD Bank Group. The national competition took place at the 2014 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Calgary.

The Enactus team from Lambton College has transformed the rural village of Kasaka, Zambia through their innovative farming and entrepreneurship project, One Seed, which has created 41 jobs, started seven small businesses, processed 150 micro loans and generated $623,000 in economic impact.

The TD Entrepreneurship Challenge is a national competition empowering post-secondary students to develop and deliver projects that teach relevant entrepreneurship skills to aspiring and existing entrepreneurs. The Enactus team from Lambton College embodied the values of entrepreneurship to win this challenge by empowering villagers in Zambia to become entrepreneurs.

The 2014 Enactus Canada National Exposition welcomed more than 1,200 delegates including the country’s brightest university and college students, academic professionals and top Canadian CEOs supporting entrepreneurial action through competition, recognition and education.
