University of WindsorTORONTO, ONTARIO (May 2, 2016) – The University of Windsor has been awarded the 2016 Tim Hortons Making a True Difference Project Partnership Best Project by this country’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud supporter Tim Hortons. The award presentation took place at the 2016 Enactus Canada National Exposition today in Toronto.

The Enactus team from the University of Windsor helped 37 participants launch 16 new food businesses, generating over $300,000 in revenues and diverting 400 pounds of produce from landfills every month.

“It was inspiring to see the next generation of Canadian leaders demonstrate their passion for making a true difference in their local communities,” says David Clanachan, President and Chief Operating Officer, Tim Hortons Canada. “Tim Hortons is proud to sponsor a program that cultivates entrepreneurial leadership while giving students the opportunity to holistically make a true difference in communities across Canada.”

The Tim Hortons Making a True Difference Project Partnership was designed to empower Enactus teams with the resources needed to identify, create and deliver projects that address the specific and unique needs and opportunities in their communities in a holistic way.

The Tim Hortons Making a True Difference Project Partnership Best Project was awarded at the 2016 Enactus Canada National Exposition, where more than 1,500 delegates including the country’s brightest university and college students, academic professionals and top Canadian CEOs came together to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world.
