TORONTO, ON (May 14, 2015) – Michael Tessier, owner of Good Roots Landscaping Inc. and full-time student at the University of Alberta, has been named 2015 Student Entrepreneur National Champion by this country’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud program supporter, the John Dobson Foundation, as part of the Student Entrepreneur National Competition.
Michael received the title of Student Entrepreneur National Champion after beating out hundreds of other student entrepreneurs from across Canada through provincial, regional and national rounds of competition. He received the national title at the Enactus Canada National Exposition in Toronto.
A panel of Canada’s top entrepreneurs and business leaders voted Michael national champion for his foresight in building meaningful business relationships and his ability to offer his clients functional, high value outdoor spaces.
Good Roots Landscaping Inc. is a landscape construction company offering clients personalized spaces through which they can connect with the environment and enjoy time with their family and friends. They design and implement full property developments as well as complete site rejuvenations throughout Edmonton and surrounding areas.
“Michael embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that built this country,” said Enactus Canada president Nicole Almond. “We want to encourage and celebrate this in a new generation of young leaders across Canada.”
As National Champion, Michael received a $10,000 cash prize and took home the John Dobson Cup.
