TORONTO, ONTARIO (March 17, 2014) – Kathleen Kemp, student at the University of Ottawa, received the 2014 HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow Award for Central Canada from this country’s largest student leadership development organization, Enactus Canada, and proud program supporter, HSBC Bank Canada. The award presentation took place at the 2014 Enactus Canada Regional Exposition on March 14 in Toronto.
Kathleen has been passionate about entrepreneurship since she was very young, starting her first business at the age of 13. She has been involved with starting and leading a number of different organizations, including a non-profit designed to provide youth with the resources to help them access mental health care in their communities.
She has helped grow the Enactus team at the University of Ottawa from 30 to 75 members and secured $30,000 in funds to help grow the teams’ projects. In terms of the projects themselves, she has helped grow the team’s portfolio with two new projects centered around employing marginalized immigrant women and people with mental illness.

The HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow Award is designed to recognize, celebrate and honour female university and college students – on a regional and national level – who exemplify success and inspire their peers, community and country through entrepreneurial leadership.
Kathleen is one of six regional award winners from across Canada who will travel to the 2014 Enactus Canada National Exposition taking place in Calgary in April in the hopes of being named the national 2014 HSBC Woman Leader of Tomorrow.
The top 50 award applicants from across the country will also be invited to attend the exclusive HSBC Women’s Leadership Forum to be held at the 2014 Enactus Canada National Exposition. This annual forum will bring together the top entrepreneurial female leaders of today and tomorrow to dialogue and find solutions to Canada’s social, economic and environmental issues.
